How to run this activity

  1. 1

Match the quiz to your class

Check which tables your pupils have already met, and remove or replace the questions on the others. In the editor you can lengthen the time limit or turn off the speed bonus for pupils who are still building fluency.

  2. 2

    Launch it live

Project the questions and share the PIN or QR code. Explain that speed earns extra points but accuracy comes first. Pupils without a device can answer on paper or aloud.

  3. 3

    Pause on the tricks

After each reveal, read the trick aloud and ask a pupil to try it on another fact, for example doubling an answer from the 4 times table to find one in the 8 times table.

  4. 4

    Plan the practice

Open the report to see which questions had the fewest correct answers. Practise those facts for a few minutes each day, then run the quiz again a week or two later to see the progress.
