How to run this activity

  1. 1

    Listen before presenting

Use the player or open the full preview to check each excerpt. Keep the pieces that suit your audience and review the wording and accepted answers in the editor.

  2. 2

    Test the actual speakers

Try the host device and room speakers together. Choose a comfortable volume and check that people at the back can hear without distortion.

  3. 3

    Explain the listening rule

Tell the group whether each excerpt will be played once or repeated. Give enough time to listen before asking for an answer; the host controls the flow.

  4. 4

    Leave time for discovery

After each reveal, invite a brief comment about where people heard the melody before. The conversation can be as valuable as the score.
