Strengths
What internal capability helps us? Example: experienced workshop facilitators.
A SWOT analysis separates internal strengths and weaknesses from external opportunities and threats. This four-area whiteboard helps a group examine one clearly defined project, service or decision. It becomes useful when observations lead to choices, rather than a long list of adjectives.

A shared view of the situation and one or two strategic questions to investigate next.
Use these questions alongside the areas on the board. Add one idea per note, then discuss the connections.
What internal capability helps us? Example: experienced workshop facilitators.
What internal limitation matters? Example: no evening availability.
What external development could help? Example: requests from a nearby school.
What external change could hurt? Example: the venue may close for renovation.
Write the decision and time horizon at the top of the board. For example: should our association offer evening workshops next term?
Add one observation per note. A skilled facilitator is an internal strength; increased local demand is an external opportunity. Keep those distinctions visible.
Ask what supports each claim and mark assumptions that need checking. Do not treat the number of notes as a measurement of importance.
Ask which strength helps seize an opportunity, and which weakness increases exposure to a threat. Choose a next investigation or action and assign it.
Keep what fits, rewrite what does not and set the pace for your group.
